Knowledge and Practice of Healthcare Workers Regarding the Healthcare Waste Management

Background: Healthcare waste management (HWM) issues are getting worse in Pakistan since there more and hospitals, clinics, diagnostic labs, etc. One of the major individuals charge properly managing healthcare wastes at any facility is medical staff. But how well you perform will rely on much know do about management. Aim: To ascertain knowledge practice professionals waste. Study design: Cross-sectional descriptive study. Methodology: The Children Hospital Lahore has conducted current study included 400 participants. Structured, pre-tested, self-administered questionnaires were used to collect data. survey was cleaned, revised, reviewed for completeness. analysis data done using SPSS 23. Results: involved, 174(43.5%) whom had sufficient understanding health care management, whereas 226(56.5%) insufficient knowledge. Of participants, 188(47%) good waste, remaining 212(50%) bad practice. Practical Implication: This helped researchers investigate workers. It would help estimating by Conclusion: determined that most workers inadequate poor All employees must receive appropriate training supervision HCW as pertinent continuous in-service training, ensure they have necessary information, attitudes, safe practices.
